Trevor Noah took the hosting seat of The Daily Show
for the first time tonight under close scrutiny. As a newcomer who
prepared for the show in just weeks, he was probably destined to
disappoint some, but most of the Internet seemed pretty pleased with the
changeover, despite (or because of?) the fact that the show echoed Jon
Stewart's show closely, except with a new, younger, South African guy at
the helm.
Noah made a number of jokes about nostalgia for Stewart and trepidation about him, The Daily Show's "black stepfather." But, at least according to astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson, the new version of the show got something very, very right that the old one did not:
