What to Wear (And Bring!) to Friendsgiving

What to Wear (And Bring!) to Friendsgiving

The Thanksgiving holiday is just days away, and chances are, on top of your family dinner and Black Friday shopping, you've also got a Friendsgivingplanned for Saturday night or Sunday.
If you're still stressing out about what to wear to Friendsgiving, never fear! We got you, girl, no matter whether you're hosting or just showing up - maybe - to your squad's soiree this year.

The Hostess

Outfit: Mascara, Eyeshadow, Necklace, Clutch, Booties, Dress | Bring:Perfect Roast Chicken
You're opening up your home / apartment / dorm room to your closest friends, fam, and coworkers, so not only will you be spending the day cooking, cleaning, and prepping for the party, but you'll need your outfit game to be on point.
It's tempting to want to pull out all the stops when you're entertaining, but trust me - the last thing you want is to be worrying about uncomfortable high heels, smeared lipstick, or a skirt that's too short. Stick to somethingcomfortable, simple, and chic that makes you feel like a million bucks so you cross your outfit off of the things I have to worry about list.
For a look that's comfy, cute, and stylish, try a sleek printed sheath dress in a dark neutral color (nothing's worse than a wine stain on a white dress, amiright?) and a pair of edgy black booties with a low heel. A statement necklace adds a bit of bling to the look, but avoid anything feathery, furry, glittery or overly dangly - for your food's sake. Opt for a smoky eye and the blackest black mascara for a dramatic, no-fuss look. You won't miss your lipstick, I promise!
And, of course, you'll be hosting, so you'll need to provide the protein for this holiday shindig. Turkeys are a pain in the @ss to cook and are pretty $$$, and leave you with more leftovers than you can ever, ever, eat, so opt for a roast chicken instead.

The Host's BAE/BFF/Roommate

Outfit: Volume Spray, Lipstick, Sweater, Bag, Necklace, Booties, Skirt |Bring: A Veggie Dish
If your BFF, SO, roommate, or sibling is hosting Friendsgiving, they're probably counting on you to either 1) show up early and help, 2) bring a substantial dish to pass, 3) not show up in leggings and a messy topknot, or 4) all of the above.
For a look that's cute and polished but won't upstage your hardworking host, pair a flouncy marsala-colored midi skirt with a cute sweater and cognac booties. A gold statement necklace and a deep wine lip look super festive but casual enough when paired with textured waves. A deep burgundy bag adds a touch of polish and edge.
Even if cooking's not your thing, you can still bring a lifesaving dish to pass, like this easy, lemony green bean dish that heats up easily in the microwave (so you're not commandeering your hostess' precious oven space!).

6 Habits of Highly Fashionable People

6 Habits of Highly Fashionable People
6 habits of highly fashionable people

Anyone can know the hottest labels and trends. Anyone with money can buy them. Owning fancy "it" brand pieces can get you a few Instagram-worthy photos, but having genuine style takes a little more.
What is it about the highly fashionable that makes style seem so effortless? They always look fabulous, but never seem to be trying too hard. They combine clothes in ways you never even considered. They wear outfits that you could never pull off... Except you can.
To help you get started, we've pulled together six habits that all stylish people share, and it's really easier than you think.

1. They own what they're wearing.

Ultra-stylish people are always confident with what they're wearing. Even if they realize, in the middle of the day, that their top really clashes with their skirt, or that their dress is on backwards, they'll own it. Mistakes can come off as fashion statements, and simple outfits can come off as great ones.
Confidence really is key. It make you and anything you're wearing look ten times as cool.

2. They don't shy away from any store.

Whether it's Salvation Army or Neiman's, stylish people never think they're "too cool" or "not fancy enough" for any store. The fashionable can work great pieces from anywhere, without any snobbery.
If the store is on the higher end of the spectrum, maybe they can't afford anything (we've all been there!), but they'll browse like they belong there because it never hurts to draw inspiration.

3. They dress for themselves.

It may seem a little contradictory, but the most stylish people don't dress to be considered stylish
This paradox exists because the ultra stylish don't care what others think about their clothes. They wear what they do because they like it, and that's part of what makes it work. When you dress for yourself only, you're more likely to push the envelope and maybe create your own new trends.

4. They don't obsess over labels.

People with genuine style know that name brands don't make them cooler. It's not that name brands are bad, but they're not the only thing to be considering when you're getting dressed
Like I said before, the truly stylish can find amazing pieces from any store, name brand or not.

5. They don't follow every trend.

Usually, the highly fashionable do keep up with trends, but that doesn't mean they jump on every one of them.
They know trends come and go, and of course, they'll take action on the ones they like. But if they don't want to buy into the hottest new trend, they won't, and it doesn't tarnish their stylish reputation.

6. They get inspired, but they don't copy.

Inspiration can be drawn from so many different places: fashion shows, store window mannequins, street style photos. There are millions of possible sources!
Stylish people love to get inspired, but they don't need or want to copy an outfit piece by piece. They know how to recreate certain styles and vibes in a way that makes them their own.

What do you think?

Are there any other habits you think highly stylish people have? What habits might you pick up yourself? Comment below! We'd love to hear from you!

STREETWEAR SEES MAJOR COMEBACK

STREETWEAR SEES MAJOR COMEBACK

hoodies
Streetwear is in its fifth iteration with everyone from megabrands such as Nike, Adidas and Timberland, to traditional labels such as Brooks Brothers and up-and-coming designers like Off-White tapping into its aesthetic. Its resurgence, both in terms of fashion influence and revenue, stems from a variety of factors, including the growing importance of Generation Z consumers; the boom in activewear as everyday apparel, and the exponential increase in online shopping, which enables even the smallest of labels to gain worldwide distribution.
The current market is saturated with hundreds, if not thousands, of streetwear brands, which is what separates today’s movement from what it was two decades ago. So big is its potential that industry sources now estimate the category to have annual sales of $2 billion to $2.5 billion.
There also is increasing segmentation. No longer is there one look; instead, streetwear ranges from urban Goths to the skate and surfer market to new-era grunge and punk and, finally, hip-hop. Because of social media and the Web, all of these underground subcultures are now accessible to the public.
True independent streetwear was always a secret club,” said Bobby “Hundreds” Kim of Los Angeles-based brand The Hundreds. “But the Web cracked the mystery wide open. The biggest reason why the culture and style have become so prevalent today is because of desktop publishing, the facility to print T-shirts and manufacture apparel, and the lowered barrier to entry for a newcomer to participate in the market. Just a decade or so ago, kids wanted to grow up to be rappers, baseball players or movie stars. Today, the youth aspire to own a brand and have a streetwear label. Even musicians and athletes and celebrities want in. With two clicks of a mouse, you can have a silk-screened T-shirt and a snap-back cap to stand behind and position your place in the world.”
men designer clothes

The influence is being seen in the designer market as well, where trend-setting labels such as En Noir, Off-White by Virgil Abloh and others are showcasing streetwear influences in their collections.
These days I believe that you can judge a designer by a graphic T-shirt they make,” said Abloh, who also moonlights as Kanye West’s creative director. Abloh’s brand, rooted in street culture but influenced by designers like Riccardo Tisci and Raf Simons, is now sold at retailers such as Barneys New York.
My clothes are created out of an atelier in Milan and the production is mainly in Europe,” he said. “It’s sold on a designer floor at Barneys but [has] streetwear sensibilities.”
Even as streetwear makes a comeback, traditional teen retailers such as American Eagle OutfittersAbercrombie & Fitch and Aéropostale have been struggling, as have traditional surf brands like Quiksilver and Billabong.
Analysts believe there are a myriad of reasons as to why, but one thing is certain: The Generation Z consumers (ages 12 to 17) have become highly informed shoppers, with 91 percent plugged into the Internet and social media. According to a study made by The Intelligence Group, a division of Creative Artists Agency, Gen-Zers are as discriminating as older consumers when shopping for the best products and deals.

They’re on every platform now and they are constantly being fed new information - what’s cool, where to get it,” said Jamie Gutfreund, chief strategy officer at TIG.
Among the brands that are attracting these younger customers on social media are established streetwear labels such as Stüssy and Supreme; West Coast brands like The Hundreds, Black Scale, Undefeated, Huf, Diamond Supply Co., and Crooks and Castles, and East Coast firms like 10.Deep, SSUR and Been Trill - many of which have their own freestanding stores and e-commerce capabilities.
Diamond Supply Co., for instance, opened its second freestanding store in San Francisco’s Haight-Ashbury neighborhood in June. The brand plans to open a third store in New York City later this year at 268 Lafayette Street across from Supreme.

Count the Moles on Your Arm as You Pull Back Your Hair With a Hillary Clinton Scrunchie

Count the Moles on Your Arm as You Pull Back Your Hair With a Hillary Clinton Scrunchie
If your friends are anything like mine, they're all talking about how Gwen Stefani (she of current dip-dye proclivity) looks about as old as someone sending in their college applications in her emotional new video for the song "Used to Love You." She's actually 46, though, so of course, there's plenty of buzz about what she "gets done" to stay looking so youthful.
Having worked at a procedure-centric beauty magazine for many years, I have an educated opinion on what I think might go into Gwen's preservation, but until she voluntarily talks about it, it's just speculation—not news.
The following, however, is news.

If you have 11 moles on your right arm, you may be at higher risk for skin cancer

It sounds so arbitrary, doesn't it? Almost like an old wives' tale. But according to a new study from London's King College and published in the British Journal of Dermatology, having 11 moles on your right arm could indicate a higher risk of skin cancer.
It's pretty logical, actually. The study showed that subjects with at least 11 moles on their right arms were nine times more likely to have more than 100 moles total, and that's an indication of a higher risk for melanoma development.
Ultimately, it's just a good reminder that we should check our skin regularly and have it looked at by a doctor at least once a year.
"Most moles fortunately don't turn into cancer," Dr. Todd Ridky, a dermatologist who wasn't involved in the study told CBS News. "There are plenty of moley people who never have a cancer, but your risk of developing a melanoma is greater."
Moley people is a medical term, by the way.

Farrah Abraham's six-year-old daughter's makeup is on fleek for her first-grade photo, which is... weird

Farrah Abraham, the Teen Mom teen mom turned 20-something porn star, has been criticized in the past for waxing her then-three-year-old daughter's eyebrows, but she was apparently hungry for more internet anger in the realm of age-appropriate beauty practices.
Sophia, her now six-year-old daughter, seems to be wearing a significant amount of makeup in the school picture Abraham posted earlier this week.
Instagram and Twitter outrage is intense, with some pretty strong-worded comments about how inappropriate it is to put makeup on a little girl and what kind of message it sends. "All you are doing is clogging up her perfect skin," said one commenter who completely missed the point.
Depending on when Abraham's third breast-augmentation surgery was scheduled, however, she may be too loopy on pain meds to pay attention to the haters.

If your face almost explodes after using at-home hair color, maybe don't do it again EVER

Three years ago, 15-year-old Dinya Rasool of Wales wanted red hair, so she bought some L'Oreal box color to do at home. And, shocking no one becauseyouth, she didn't do the patch test that's supposed to determine a possible allergic reaction. The next morning, she looked like this:
Photo courtesy of The Mirror and your nightmares.
Photo courtesy of The Mirror and your nightmares.
A hospital trip full of antihistamines and steroids got Dinya back to normal, and she learned her lesson.
Just kidding about that second part.
Now that Dinya is 18 and her first ordeal is ancient history, she decided to do another home hair color kit, this time with a Clairol product that doesn't have ammonia, the ingredient Dinya assumed caused the previous reaction.
She assumed wrong.
Whyyyyyyyyyy
Whyyyyyyyyyy
After another trip to the hospital with the allergic reaction from hell, tests revealed she's allergic to para-phenylenediamine (PPD), an ingredient in a lot of home hair-color kits.
"Doctors said if I'd left it any longer without treatment, it could've been fatal," Dinya told The Mirror. PPD is banned in much of Europe and now she's hoping it gets banned in the UK, which is understandable. (But seriously, girl, why did you do this a second time?)

You can now show your support for Hillary Clinton with one of her most notorious hair accessories

Hillary Clinton's hair doesn't matter in the grand scheme of Presidential qualifications. I just want to make that perfectly clear. But that doesn't mean it's gone unnoticed.
The Democratic candidate has had many 'dos over the course of her public figure-dom, and one was wearing ponytails held in place by scrunchies, even though Oscar de la Renta was like, chica, cut your hair.
And now, you can celebrate this questionable period of Clinton's hair life withHillary Scrunchies
"It was a giant f*** you when people tried to riff on her for her appearance," one of the designers told Mashable. "She's called out for whatever she wears and, in 2015, I'm not sure if her criticism of what she wears is even fair. Why not take it back and celebrate her?"
  • Would you wear a Hillary Scrunchie?
  • Do you patch test when you do at-home hair color?
  • How many moles do you have on your right arm?

Art & Makeup: My 3 Favorite Looks From the New Book by Makeup Artist Lan Nguyen-Grealis

Art & Makeup: My 3 Favorite Looks From the New Book by Makeup Artist Lan Nguyen-Grealis
Whenever I see ludicrous runway or editorial makeup looks, my heart beats faster. I wish that it was socially acceptable to wear beads glued to your cheekbones as a highlight or 20 different shades of day-glo on your lips. And my appreciation for artists who execute special effects makeup knows no bounds.
Of course it’s important to be able to make people look like flawless versions of themselves, but remember, it’s all face paint, just different shades. Painting creative looks is like making a living, breathing piece of art.
One of my favorite working-artist brands is Kryolan, who supported artist Lan Nguyen-Grealis in making her book, Art & Makeup. The book is full of looks based on artistic inspiration from every medium—from sculpture to opera. Everything is beautifully shot and products are listed, so aside from being an excellent coffee table art book, you can actually crack it open and attempt to create things yourself.
Here my 3 favorite looks from this great conversation starter...

This look is inspired by early film-star perfection. I love how the face is so harshly sculpted. Cheekbones are darkened with blush and bronzer while the same tones accent brow structure in an entirely serendipitous way, which are then framed by those Gibson arches.

This look is inspired by circus performances. I can’t get over the feather eyelashes! The composition of the image places the model in a dollhouse context, which is enhanced by the pale, clown-like base.
Rather than end the eye popping liner with black and white, the white lower lid fades back into the same pink as the lashes, completely enlarging the eyes into their own continent on the model’s face. Makes me want a pair of boa lashes!

Holy raver, Batwoman! Showing off texture is one of the most fun things that a MUA can do on set, and Nguyen-Grealis’ texture chops are sharp as a tack.
This eye look is at a glance prismatic and loud, but the longer you stare, the more purposeful it gets. You begin to notice the neon in the outer crease that mimics a cat-eye flick, the black shading an anti-highlight, and the purple in the corner a bright focal point no different from an inner corner highlight. This look is as chaotic as it is beautiful, and I am a bit obsessed with it.
These are just three of dozens of creative looks found in this awesome book. I will be making my way through it for inspiration for years to come, since it encompasses nearly every art and media trend in the last century or so. If artists like Lan Nguyen-Grealis and Pat McGrath continue to push three dimensional makeup as a thing, I will not be mad in the slightest.

You Can Now 3D Print Any Beauty Accessory You Can Dream Up

You Can Now 3D Print Any Beauty Accessory You Can Dream Up
My first experience with a 3D printer was at the Armory Show in 2011 when they were still more of a novelty item. Printing pioneers MakerBot were on hand to make souvenirs, and I couldn’t help but reflect on just how smart it was to present this technology to artists in its early days. They created the 3D printer that is accessible to their loyal and devoted following, from every walk of life, and gave them the keys to the kingdom.
For this reason, the Thingiverse, MakerBot’s database of designers, create scores of community-sourced print specs, and it is as endless as the internet itself. The community reminds me of ours here at xoVain—there's an overwhelming vibe of positivity and people are more or less neighborly and supportive. This is a true information exchange; the members create designs and upload them, which anyone can download and print. Because the entire platform is free, anyone can print anything, and you can find just about anything to print.
This couldn’t have come at a better time in the beauty and fashion sphere. People are more discerning when it comes to their purchases, and awareness about the downside of buying cheap crap is always on the rise. More and more are turning to DIY, and what is a 3D printer if not a DIY device in its purest form? The printer runs off of spools of meltable, biodegradable material, and there are colors, textures, and other characteristics that lend unique properties to each design. The printer melts and dispenses the material in a specified pattern by the 3D blueprint, kind of like a hot glue gun that extrudes molten plastic. It’s mesmerizing to watch and gets the mind buzzing with possible designs.I went to their HQ to look at their office Tardis and chat with MakerBot about what makes the sharing concept so unique and what it means for design, fashion, beauty, and creativity at large.
Essentially, the most useful function of the community-based design source is the cooperative nature. Person A prints a comb, person B prints this comb but doesn’t like the distance between the prongs. Since the designs are open, person B can take person A’s design and alter it before adding it back to the Thingiverse. Person C has a choice between design A or B, or can alter either one to make their own. It’s truly collaborative, and you don’t even have to physically own a 3D printer—you can send your design (or someone else’s) to a printing service or a friend’s printer.
You can basically treat the Thingiverse as a virtual and customizeable Target, printing anything from a witch’s broom to a face mask, and this Halloweenpeople really are. I asked MakerBot to print me a few cute items that would be helpful for beauty or Halloween, and now I want to be able to print my whims even more than I want to eat all of the Milk Duds this weekend.
Mulan touched me ever so much as a young woman. The fact that it's loosely based on a real story makes it even more awesome. When I was a little girl, I wanted Mulan's beautiful jade comb so desperately—almost as badly as I wanted Jasmine's amulet crown. In fact, my mom loves to tell people that when I was little, she had to cover my eyes as we walked past The Disney Store in the mall. Dreams come true, as you can see here: I now have my own Mulan Blossom Comb!
If you find yourself in need of an accessory to compliment your Rumblefish, Cry Baby, Sandy, or other badass costume, consider getting yourself one of these doodads. Printed in three parts and fun to whip (and nae nae), you can play many roles if you snap open this comb to the beat of "Monster Mash" this year.
Candyproof
Candyproof
One of the perils of a costume is keeping your look together if you are wearing makeup. A pizza run can turn a witch into a ghost if you forget to reapply that Fairuza juice afterwards! I had MB print me a lipstick keychain so I can keep track of my lippies on the go—crucial if you don't want to carry a purse.
This is but a mere taste of the fun and shenanigans you can print on aMakerBot Replicator machine. Their printers start at $1,375, which is an investment, but it's quite easy to have things you want printed by someone else on the cheap. The printers are most beneficial to schools, where learning design skills and being able to construct them teaches valuable concepts to a child.
Whether you use them for fun, work, or that prototype you've always been developing, this is a very important tool that I think will soon be making a bigger impact on beauty and fashion. Thingiverse members are making everything from electrical components to platform shoes, and I can already think of dozens of beauty applications. Whether you use this network to find the perfect Shakespearean Skull paperweight or collab on a dress, you can turn imagination into reality, and beauty lovers belong in this conversation.
  • What would you print with a 3D printer?
  • Has anyone else been up in the Thingiverse?

Male Attractiveness and Aging| Using Your Experience to Enhance Your Appearance

Male Attractiveness and Aging| Using Your Experience to Enhance Your Appearance
Before we get into this topic I have a question:
Who was voted the sexiest man of the year in 1989 and sexiest man of the century in 1999?
Male-Attractiveness-and-Aging-2(1)For those who don’t know: Sean Connery
Does anyone know how old he was when he was voted most sexy man on Earth?
59
That’s right:
A majority of women voted a 59 year old man sexier than any other man on the planet.
Not to mention being voted most sexy man of the century at the age of 69.
Today we’re going to talk about male sex appeal and how it’s affected by getting older.
I’m also going to give you 5 tips to maintain your attractiveness past the age of 40.
 The Problem
The reason I’m writing this article is that I’ve had a number of older men approach me about this issue. Some were men who’ve just gone through a divorce or were recently widowed.
Mainly these are men who are past the age of 40 and are trying to figure out how they can stand out as older gentlemen.
They generally echoed similar questions:
  • How can I start dressing in a certain way?
  • How can I start to use style?
  • How can I figure out what’s going on here (In terms of how their advancing age was affecting their attractiveness)?
A major concern many of the gentlemen had was how they could date younger women, without running into this dreaded question:
“Oh, is this your daughter?”
 Exploring the Problem
Man in a Coffee ShopSo being concerned with style issues for all my readers young and old I set to work.
Me and my team went off and did the research and we found a relevant British study that found the following:
39 is the median age in which a man starts to make the crossover into being considered older.
Since I’m 38 this was a wake up call for me as well and this got me thinking about how my age was going to affect people’s perception of me.
Even though I’m happily married to an amazing woman I still want to appear attractive (If for no other reason than that my wife keeps on finding me attractive)
Attractiveness is not just about attracting women. It’s also about appearing strong and masculine so that you can attract business partners and clients.
When people see you you want them to be attracted to you on all levels. Without debating the morality or fairness of it multiple studies have shown that attractive people are hired sooner, promoted faster and earn as much as 3 to 4% more than their less-attractive counterparts.
When you’re perceived as attractive you’re seen as more open and approachable and therefore have a better chance of being exposed to more people including potential clients and business partners.
I have to admit that the majority of men who raised this issue with me were simply concerned with appearing attractive to women but now it should be clear to all you men that attractiveness is important for all men.
So while these following 5 tips were originally developed for older gentlemen concerned by their appearance, they are valuable guidelines for men at any stage of their life.

Man in Sports Jacket1. Look Available

A lot of the men I spoke to were recently divorced and were in their mid-forties.
After almost a lifetime of their spouse looking after them and choosing their clothes many men found that not only did they not appear available or presentable, they had no idea how to go about appearing so.
Some of them went through a long time period during which they simply didn’t care about their appearance and their confidence was way down.
So the first step is for you to figure out how to look presentable so that when you walk into a store or any type of establishment the single women there will look at you and quickly determine:
“Hey, this guy is on the market. He looks interesting.”
The thing that plays in your favor here is that women are less concerned about age than men generally are and it’s not the thing that will turn them off. It’s your appearance that counts in this situation.
Women often make the assumption that an older man is no longer available and the reason is simply that it’s true: most single women know that men past the age of 30 or 40 are married or involved in long-term relationships.
Dress the Part
So now you need to send a crystal-clear signal that you’re available. Since it’s the first thing women are going to notice you have to dress the part. Basically you need to start dressing like a man:
Try to throw on that sports jacket you never wear (You may have to dry-clean it) or if you’re not into sports jackets, start wearing more casual button-up shirts that are going to show that you care about yourself and that you haven’t given up on life.
Be Sure to Groom
The other aspect of your appearance you need to look at is to pay careful attention to your grooming.
Make sure you read my article on the 7 Grooming Mistakes Men Make
My regular readers will know I’ve talked about how you tend to sprout hair from everywhere as you grow older. You have to make sure you have impeccable grooming habits.
Once you’ve covered your wardrobe and your grooming make sure that you smile and engage with people to show that you are available.

2. Consider Dyeing your hair

A lot of men are starting to get gray at this age but this need not be a problem because in the dating scene there’s nothing wrong with dying your hair.
If you consider this I would recommend going to a salon and speaking with the people there especially if you don’t know what you’re doing.
You can be as forthright as you’re comfortable with but basically you want to relay to them that you want to upgrade your look and you’re interested in dying your hair for that purpose.
hair dye
Once you’re committed to this you have to maintain a regular schedule of dying your hair to keep it from looking odd which is what will happen when your natural hair color starts growing back in and displacing the colored hair.
This advice is especially relevant if you’ve gone prematurely gray or if you’re in your 50s or 60s and you’ve gone naturally gray and men who are looking to start dating a woman 20 or 30 their junior should also seriously consider following this route.
I have a friend that’s married to a beautiful Russian woman that’s 25 years younger than he is. Since he’s in his 70s she is still relatively older but there is that significant age gap.
In all the time I’ve known him I never thought about it and then it dawned on me that he’s been dyeing his hair for a long time. I should have known but I simply wasn’t paying attention.
One day it just struck me and I said to him: “Wow! Good job, Roger.”
Though I’ve mentioned 50s and 60s there is absolutely no reason you shouldn’t continue doing this into your 60s or 70s or to start doing it at that age.
More important than anything else is to make sure you have fun. This is something you do for yourself and you don’t have to worry about what other people are going to say or think.
If it makes you feel more confident or younger then go for it.

Man Jogging in the Morning3.Take Care of Your Body

Nothing makes a man look older than if he’s carrying on a lot of extra weight especially in the face. If you start getting a double chin you need to reconsider how you’re taking care of your body.
The number 1 thing you can do to help you with this is to watch what you eat.
Other than that, there are some amazing resources out there and one I can recommend is:
Abel James at Fat-Burning Man, who is a personal friend with great free podcasts, books and other resources that you can use.
Just make sure you pay attention – you’re never going to be able to outrun your mouth when it comes to the food you put into it.
The second part of taking care of your body is to exercise. It’s important that you not focus on only one thing so if you usually just do cardio try adding some weight training and vice versa.
Some very knowledgeable gentlemen on this topic are:
Tom Ventuno at Burn the Fat Feed the Burn
Ryan Masters at Sparta Strength
There is tons of information out there so you have no excuse. Some of your options are:
  • join a gym
  • join a specific program
  • get a trainer
  • work with a dietitian
Whatever you decide on you have to focus on getting your body in shape if you want to attract women or just want to improve your attractiveness.

Man-teeth-brushing-with-electric-toothbrush4. Take care of your Teeth

Like many other things, time takes it’s toll on the teeth of older men and you find your teeth yellowing as you grow older or even have some of your teeth fall out.
Not having healthy teeth is something that is a significant negative factor for especially younger women and is a major reason they look at older men as something they don’t want to be associated with
If you used to smoke or have just neglected your teeth in the past you’re probably going to want to look at something like getting your teeth whitened.
If yellow or discolored teeth are a problem you have be sure to talk to your dentist and if you have really bad teeth and a bit of money you may want to consider veneers as an option.
These are a unique way of upgrading your teeth that will go a long way towards making you look more attractive.

5. Take Care of Your Skin

If you’re already in your 50s or 60s and you’ve neglected your skin in the past this is going to be a bit tougher .
You’ll have to consider products that have ingredients like retinol DMAE and MSM. These are ingredients in some more expensive and exclusive skincare products that will help you improve the condition of your skin.
No idea what I’m talking about? Go and read my article Man’s Guide to Lotion | How to Buy Men’s Face and Body Products.
If you’re in your 30s or 40s you have a bit more leeway but you should immediately start paying attention to cleaning your skin. You can start by using something like a face mask that exfoliates your skin and follow up with a lotion that will lock in moisture.
Men who care of their skin in their 30s and 40s will find themselves in much better condition when they get to their 50s and 60 and won’t have a lot of the problems they may otherwise have.
For those of you who may be a bit older or men who have skin problems we have a whole range of videos and articles dealing with taking care of your skin.

Bonus Recommendation:

Have Confidence

One of the great things about getting older is that you’ve been through life and you’ve become a lot more confident and this is the great thing. You’ve started to break away from the mainstream and you start to realize this is your one shot in life.
Make sure you capitalize on this confidence. Know that you’re going to have a great time and go live your life the way you want to and stop worrying about the opinion of others.
This is a major factor I’ve seen in men who marry women 25 or 30 years their junior and if that’s what you want, go for it.
And before you make the mistake of ignoring them, be sure to look at those ladies your own age. You may well find that you find a gem there that you won’t find in a younger companion.
I certainly hope these tips are useful. The important thing now is to get out there and act on this advice and make sure you look at the links and resources I’ve shared here and if you have any questions be sure to contact me and I’ll do my best to help you.
