Miss Georgia Betty Cantrell was crowned Miss America 2016 on Sunday night, beating out first runner up Miss Mississippi Hannah Roberts and second runner up Miss Colorado Kelley Johnson.
What did she do to win the title? She sang a glass shattering version of "Tu Tu Piccolo Iddio" from Madame Butterfly. This was far more impressive than her question-and-answer performance, where she gave a weird response when asked about the New England Patriots' controversial Super Bowl win.
"I'm not sure. I think I'd have to be there to see the ball and feel the ball to see if it was deflated or not deflated ... but if there was any question there, then he definitely cheated and he should have been suspended."
In her defense, it was a strange question. But damn can she sing. That's definitely worth the $50,000 scholarship prize alone. All hail Miss America Betty Cantrell.
