Lace-Braided Bun Updo
We're in love with this textured, braided bun updo! It has the perfect balance of romance and sass for any event—formal or casual. Plus, you only need to know how to French braid! Before you get started, make sure you have all your tools. You'll need a comb, a 1¼-inch curling iron, three elastics (one bigger than the others), a strong-hold hairspray, and some bobby pins, just in case anything falls loose from your bun.
Lace-Braided Bun Updo: Steps 1-2
1. Create a side part, and tease your crown.
2. On the side of your head with less hair, start a French braid, but only pull in pieces of hair from the hairline side of the braid. This makes it a lace braid.

3. Continue lace-braiding down the side of your head and across the back until you reach the spot where you'd like to put the messy bun. Secure the braid with an elastic.
4. Loosely curl all the ends with a 1¼-inch curling iron.
Lace-Braided Bun Updo: Steps 5-6
5. Bring all your hair to one side, and secure with an elastic.
6. Remove the elastic securing the braid, and using your favorite technique, create a messy bun. Check out this tutorial if you're not a messy bun pro. Finish with a strong-hold hairspray, and you're all done!
