My Hand Cream Collection is Getting Out of Control, Plus COTW!

I never used to be a hand cream person. In fact, I'm pretty sure I did not use hand cream once in my first 20 years on this planet. I would watch women in sitcoms sitting up in bed slathering lotion all over their hands and think, Well, that looks like a boring waste of time.

Now I somehow own so many hand creams that there's no way I'll be able to finish them before the year is out. I guess that's good, since hands get... dry... in the winter... and something about cuticles?

Fine, I admit it: I'm only into hand lotion for the yummy scents. I am definitely one of those people who enthusiastically puts on pink-scented hand cream (yep, that's a thing) right before eating lunch and then immediately regrets it.

1. I never even knew that zit-healing stickers existed but I'm intrigued by this suggestion from "kate":

I got a $5 box of hydrocolloid blister bandages from Kmart that I cut into little circles with brow scissors. Totally customizable and TOTALLY effective. These lil stickers suck out allll the whiteness out of zits (and ingrowns !!) and start the healing process in like 4-8 hours. They're like picking forgiveness patches because perviously my pimples would come back with a vengeance after I pop them, but these prevent any further infection from making the zit bigger over night while also sucking out anything that you missed. Downsides: I can't wear these to work because you can see the small blotches of white that the sticker has sucked out of your face... on the sticker... Which is satisfying and disgusting at the same time. Also, they don't work until the zit has come to a head, and work even better after some light popping, which doesn't help during those torturous days of dread/anticipation when a cyst is taking its sweet time.

2. "Widget82" has the right idea (even if she didn't end up doing it); I wish more people would turn their babies into characters from Mad Max: Fury Road for Halloween.

I'm in a group that does babywearing (like, carrying your babies in Ergos, Tulas, wraps, etc.) and there was a Halloween event yesterday. I really really wanted to make the baby blood bag Mad Max and shave my husband's head and make him a war boy. But we don't have a front facing carrier and I'm not convinced everyone in that group has that sense of humor. Also, no way the baby was going to wear a face mask.

3. "OlivRose" has some excellent Korean beauty recommendations:

Living in Korea the choices can be pretty overwhelming at times, but also very fun! I have had good luck with a few products that I repurchase or will repurchase when they run out. Namely: Skinfood Peach Sake Pore Serum, Laneige Waterbank Gel Cream, Scinic Honey All In One Ampoule, Étude House Moistfull Collagen Toner, Dr. Jart+ UV Fluid spf 50, Dr. Jart+ sheet masks, Innisfree Green Tea Seed Eye Cream... There's probably more but I'm not looking at the products now so can't remember. Korea has been very good to my skin, that's for sure! ^^

4. "LogicPoodle" isn't the only one who recommended this sunscreen in the comment section this week and made me very tempted to buy it:

Biore Aqua Rich Watery Essence SPF50, PA++++, for life! Less than $15 from Amazon, goes on like a great primer, keeps me from sun damage LIKE A BOSS. I love this shit, evangelize it, and end up buying it 10 bottles at a time to bulk ship for me and my family and friends.

5. I wholeheartedly support "Gunners" method of making drugstoresunscreen and other beauty products look nicer.

You absolute tease. Ok, you got me. I'll wait. I tend to buy Cetaphil Oil Control Moisturizer SPF 30. Definitely not fancy but it does the trick without any greasiness. It's pure vanity and frivolousness but I would totally be willing to spend more money on Cetaphil if it came in pretty packaging. I placate myself by decanting things into nicer bottles/jars or peeling off drab labels. Takes a bit of patience but it's frickin' worth it because if I have to look at and use any product EVERY DAY then I might as well look at something pretty.
