These five lip colors will take you from summer fun to autumn adventure without breaking the bank.
Fall is here, and to commemorate its arrival, I love to bring out my berry-colored, brownish lip products to go with the cooler weather. Well, in Arizona, it's still in the 90s, but I still like to celebrate fall with a vampy lipanyway.
Whether it's a lip gloss or a matte lipstick, I love lip products in all shapes and forms. Fall colors, specifically, really speak to me. I think they go well with my skintone and hair color. That said, anyone can pull of these beautiful hues.
And, to add to that, these picks are under $6 a pop, so grab a few and get into the autumn groove!
1. NYX Intense Butter Gloss in Toasted Marshmallow
NYX Intense Butter Gloss in Toasted Marshmallow - $5.99
NYX can do no wrong in my opinion - their products are top-notch, from their concealers to their lipsticks to their eyeshadows. They have been known for their Butter Gloss line for many years, but they recently debuted the Intense Butter Glosses, which pack more pigment while still feeling like butter on the lips.
Another plus about these glosses is the smell - they remind me of birthday cake or buttercream frosting! Toasted Marshmallow is a deep, mauvey color that is perfect for a transition into fall.
2. Rimmel Show Off Lip Lacquer in Meteoric Matte
Rimmel Show Off Lip Lacquer in Meteoric Matte - $5.99
When Rimmel first debuted the Show Off Lip Lacquers in the U.S. (called Apocalips in the U.K.), I was a huge fan of the glossy finish and pigmented colors. They are also only $5.99!
I am an even bigger fan of their matte range of this line. The shade Meteoric Matte is the perfect berry-red to make a statement and brighten up your face. I also love the unique applicator that scoops up a lot of product into its indented wand.
3. Milani Color Statement Lipstick in Sangria
Milani Color Statement Lipstick in Sangria - $4.39
Milani's line of lipsticks is another one of my favorites. They have a great range of brights colors and nudes, but this wine-colored Sangria lipstick is my personal choice for the fall season.
This lipstick, as you can see in my swatches above, is the least pigmented out of the five. I had to go over the swatch with more pressure and more times than the other lipsticks. However, once you do build up the color, it's beautiful and very unique.
4. Wet n Wild Silk Finish Lipstick in Dark Wine
Wet n Wild Silk Finish Lipstick in Dark Wine - $0.99
For under a buck, you can rock a fall-ready lipstick that packs a lot of pigment and a smooth, satin finish. The swatches above show how evenly this color applies; I only had to go over the swatch once for the opaque color to show through!
This color is a classic wine-berry lipstick that would go beautifully with any eye look, from a nude, understated look to a smokey eye. The quality of this lipstick is amazing, especially considering the price. It feels like a high-end lipstick!
5. Wet n Wild Megalast Lip Color in Mocha-Licious
Wet n Wild Megalast Lip Color in Mocha-Licious - $1.99
I own more lipsticks from this range than I would like to admit, but it's because Wet n Wild is so affordable! They also release a ton of dupes for MAC lipsticks, so you can get a high-end look for less.
Mocha-Licious is my favorite shade of the Megalast Lip Colors for fall because it is so unique. It is a warm-toned brown color, but it is still wearable and flattering. It's the perfect way to get in on the '90s lip trend that everyone has been talking about for the past year!
What are you favorite fall makeup products?
Do you like to wear darker lips and makeup in general in the colder seasons? Do you change your makeup based on the time of the year? I would love to hear from you in the comments to find out!
